Highland Park 12 year, forget about it Highland Park 12 year, forget about it I love Highland Park. That being said I dislike the 12 year old. I personally find that the 12 doesn't come close to representing what HP is and can be. However, the 18 year old with 6 more years in the cask gives you a much better idea. The smoke is a heather peat not of the Islay variety. The sweetness and fruit come out. That being said, the 18 is only 65% of what the 25 year gives you (don't bother stopping to look at the 21 year, just move on to the 03/04/2017

Passed by any liquor stores lately? Passed by any liquor stores lately? This happened on this date - June 15, 2015 So there's this liquor store that I've passed by 100's of times that I just figured wouldn't have anything worth looking at. On the way home today I decide to stop in. I spot some decent single malts on the top shelf behind the counter. Perez, the guy behind the counter after some brief conversation realizes I know whisky and invites me behind the counter and gives me a milk crate to stand on to check out whats hiding 02/18/2017

How much darker is was. Have you noticed the difference in taste? How much more impactful the sherry presence was?
