Highland Park 12 year, forget about it I love Highland Park. That being said I dislike the 12 year old. I personally find that the 12 doesn't come close to representing what HP is and can be. However, the 18 year old with 6 more years in the cask gives you a much better idea. The smoke is a heather peat not of the Islay variety. The sweetness and fruit come out. Passed by any liquor stores lately? This happened on this date - June 15, 2015 So there's this liquor store that I've passed by 100's of times that I just figured wouldn't have anything worth looking at. On the way home today I decide to stop in. I spot some decent single malts on the top shelf behind the counter.
